PRESIDENT

Hi!! I am Marta Pareja Boto, a passionate learner studying a bachelor’s degree in natural sciences, particularly interested in physics and astronomy. I have gained diverse experiences by living in multiple European countries, including Spain, Italy, Denmark, and the Netherlands, all of which have and keep contributing to shaping who I am. Last year I got to reflect about who I was in a workshop and concluded I see myself as a work in progress— “a story in the making”. Out of over 80 chapters I hope to write, I’m only on my 19th!!!
Last year, driven by personal needs and a desire to make a difference, I founded Appipen, a project to help people with food allergies. I am always excited for new challenges and as nerdy as it may sound, to keep learning!

Guilty Pleasure: wear super nerdy socks (Einstein or Marie Curie kind of socks hahaha).

VICE PRESIDENT

Hi!! I am Katya Mannar, I’m a first-year MSP student who wants to specialise in either
biology or chemistry (still undecided, in true MSP fashion!)
I’m passionate about misinformation regarding science, especially health-based topics. I would like to learn more about the development of medicine and medical technology and would like to demystify these processes, to myself and later on to others! In my free time, I like to read, play piano and do very rudimentary embroidering.

Guilty Pleasure: Watching old episodes of Kitchen Nightmares.

Hi guys! I’m Misha Bagirov, a second-year MSP student
specialising in synthetic biology. I come from Moscow,
Russia, and I fell in love with Maastricht right after I moved here. I love playing tennis 🎾 , surfing 🏄‍♂️ and bartending 🍸 (maybe I could even do it for one of the future eveeents). I am also a part of Biomed Unleashed podcast 🧫 (listen on Spotify, YouTube and Apple Podcasts!).

Guilty Pleasure: I can never resist a late-night pizza slice while watching a new Veritasium video! 🙂

SECRETARY

Hello! I am Ishve Engelkiran, the new Secretary of SEAL! I’m a last year Maastricht Science Programme student focusing on immunology. I’m from Cyprus, Morfou. Coming from an international background, I bring a global perspective to diversity, equity, and inclusion. I love to do arts and crafts, spend time with friends and read 🙂 . From my experience at SEAL, I would like to organize events, and improve my communication skills and internal relations!
